Better Late Than Never.

So, exactly one month ago, Jeff & Michelle Greenwald had baby Xander – who is, mind you, adorable. And, as is obvious to those who know this super wonderful couple, Jeffy may be one of the funnier people on the planet. I’ve been meaning to share this forever – here is the email he sent to announce the birth of his son:

Orlando, FL…Alexander William Greenwald (Xander to his friends and family) FINALLY made his grand entrance into the world today, February 27, 2008 at 11:14 pm. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces and is a lengthy 21 inches. Mother and baby are doing well, although Michelle’s recovery time may be a bit longer as she ended up having a C-section.

the jeffys“Michelle made it through with flying colors,” stated Dr. Louis Stern. “She was possibly one of the calmest patients I ever had. This was made possible due to the fact that she received her epidural in early January.” Father Jeff Greenwald stated moments after the birth to his exhausted wife, “Is that mine??” He later added that this is the “greatest day of [his] life.  One that [he] will remember always.” He then called Ticketmaster and bought tickets to his son’s first Dave Matthews concert in early July.

Born at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, FL, Xander is the first grandchild for both Gail and Stephen Chepenik of Miami, FL and Marion and Bill Greenwald of Portland, OR.

Both sets of grandparents were amazed that the baby wasn’t born with an afro, based on the head of hair his father has. Pops, as Steve will be forever known, feels like this is a turning point for his daughter. “I guess she will start learning to cook now. The kid can’t live on Mac & Cheese forever.” After hearing this comment, Michelle laughed heartily from her bed, then fell back to sleep. Marion, Xander’s new Nan, and Bill, his Grandpa, made a bold statement after the birth: “We both feel that it is in our best interest to move to Florida. Oregon has been very good to us, but it is time to move on. This has nothing to do with the baby, but more to do with the fact that there are not enough early bird specials on the West Coast.” It is to be noted that Bill recently retired after realizing that development business was drying up with the increased use of digital cameras. At press time, Gail has still not announced what she would like to be called by Xander.

The Bris will be held at the Jamestown Townhouse clubhouse in Altamonte Springs on March 6th. More details to follow.
